Role Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and security-conscious Node.js Developer to join our engineering team. This role focuses on identifying, assessing, and remediating open-source security vulnerabilities in both internal applications and third-party components. Key Responsibilities:
- Recommend and implement code changes to resolve identified open-source security vulnerabilities
- Conduct security reviews on internal applications for vulnerabilities and adherence to coding best practices
- Review third-party and open-source libraries for security issues and guide safe integration
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Security teams to reduce software security risks
- Maintain thorough documentation of vulnerabilities, remediation actions, and progress
- Contribute to building secure CI/CD pipelines and development practices
Skills and Qualifications:
Must-Have:
- 3+ years of software development experience
- Expertise in Node.js development
- Strong knowledge of open-source security principles and vulnerability management
- Familiarity with Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE)
- Experience using build tools (Make, Maven, Gradle, Bazel, ANT)
- Proficiency with package managers like NPM, Maven, PIP
- Hands-on experience with Git, GitHub/Gerrit workflows
- Understanding of CI/CD systems (e.g., Jenkins, CircleCI)
- Strong ability to communicate technical security concepts to non-security stakeholders
Value-Add Skills:
- Proficiency in other programming languages: Golang, Python, Java, C++, JavaScript
- Experience in microservices architecture, Docker, and Kubernetes
- Exposure to developing and deploying secure code in production
- Ability to work independently and across global teams
- Experience prioritizing tasks and delivering with minimal oversight
