Eligibility:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related fields
• 5+ years of industry experience in database management/engineering
• Certifications in database technologies (preferred)

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled DBMS SDE 2 + Associate Instructor who can balance technical expertise with a passion for teaching. The role involves contributing to web development projects while also designing and delivering a DBMS curriculum that prepares students for real-world challenges. This is an opportunity to apply your database engineering experience while mentoring aspiring software engineers.

Key Responsibilities

Curriculum Development:

• Design DBMS course modules, lesson plans, and practical assignments
• Update curriculum with the latest industry trends and technologies

Teaching & Training:

• Deliver engaging lectures and labs on relational models, SQL, NoSQL, normalization, and database design
• Teach advanced topics such as query optimization, security, data warehousing, and cloud databases
• Provide real-world case studies and practical examples

Assessment & Feedback:

• Design tests, projects, and assignments to evaluate student learning
• Provide constructive feedback and mentorship

Student Engagement:

• Foster an interactive and collaborative learning environment
• Support students in troubleshooting database issues
• Guide students on career opportunities in database engineering

Industry Relevance:

• Share practical insights into tools like MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Oracle
• Organize workshops, hackathons, and webinars

Collaboration:

• Partner with faculty and departments for interdisciplinary projects
• Adapt teaching to diverse learning styles and platforms

Skills and Qualifications

Technical Skills:

• Expertise in relational DBs (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra)
• Strong SQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL skills
• Database design, normalization, indexing, performance tuning
• Familiarity with cloud databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud Spanner)
• Prior experience as an instructor/trainer preferred
• Strong communication and presentation abilities
• Experience with LMS platforms (Moodle, Blackboard, Zoom)
• Strong mentoring and problem-solving ability
• Enthusiasm for teaching and continuous learning
